Jenna Cotton, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience in the field. I began my career as a therapist working with children and families who have experienced trauma. Within my previous role, I also supervised clinicians while engaging in my own clinical work. Over time while still working with children and families full time, I moved into exploring private practice in 2018. It was then I shifted my private practice work to focus more on adults who had unhealed trauma. I find trauma work to be immensely fulfilling because I enjoy getting to the deeper issues that we all face beneath the surface.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-focused. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, & interpersonal issues.
I work from a trauma informed, psychodynamic, attachment based perspective.
I am always interested in increasing my therapeutic skills and staying informed about current research in the field. One of my most exciting learning experiences as a therapist was attending the Masters Events at Oxford University in the United Kingdom in 2024. There, I attended clinical workshops and engaged in immersive experiences with world renowned experts such as Gabor Mate, Richard Schwartz, Bessel Van Der Kolk, the Gottman’s and more.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA, which can be helpful for working with trauma, & I also utilize parts work from Internal Family Systems (IFS). Additionally, I incorporate Mindfulness & Meditation.
Treatment is not one size fits all, so we will tailor your therapy to meet your needs.
